CRM qualifies photometric linearity in HPLC diode array systems more safely
large product photo   November 2009 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
An easy to handle non-consumable photometric linearity Certified Reference Material (CRM) set has been introduced by Starna Scientific which uses propyl parabenz in methanol to qualify photometric linearity in UV diode array based HPLC systems.
Starna is the only company permanently heat-fuse sealing methanol-based solutions to enable users to avoid the
handling of methanol which is a volatile, flammable, toxic solvent.

Starna’s heat-fuse sealing capability helps users to address more safely the requirement to prepare a linear serial dilution in a volatile solvent which is not an easy analytical technique. Heat-fuse sealing also helps with precision because it removes the need for users to fill and measure optical cuvettes from pre-filled ampoules, which can prove a delicate and error-prone activity.

The new CRM is suitable for qualifying photometric linearity HPLC diode array systems and will appeal to pharmaceutical QA laboratories and customer support organizations. The CRM enables Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ) using ‘industry standard’ protocols.

The Starna photometric linearity CRM is supplied with Certification of Validation that details the linearity of the CRM set, produced by measurement on a reference UV-Vis spectrophotometer in the company’s UKAS ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 34 accredited calibration laboratory. Starna supplies full documentation relating to the measurement, handling and storage of each CRM set.
