Bogus cells prompt trade mark move
large product photo   July 2006 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Following reports that inferior quality spectrophotometer cells bearing their name are being sold in India and elsewhere in Asia, Optiglass has taken steps to protect its reputation and customers Optiglass MD Keith Hulme said: 'Optiglass is the manufacturing arm of the international Starna group,

its products are sold only under the Starna brand. 'Therefore any product labelled 'Optiglass' was not manufactured by us. 'More than 50 years of experience and development has gone in to Starna cells and optical products, and we are anxious that the reputation we have built up for quality and performance is not degraded'.

In August 2006, the Starna trade mark was officially registered with the Indian Trademarks Registry to ensure that Indian customers can be sure of the authenticity of what they are buying, and a publicity campaign has been launched to advise customers and distributors.
